29th April 2019
Hello and
welcome to this week’s blog post.
This week
we have been counting down the days waiting for the eggs to hatch. We now
need to wait 14 sleeps (approximately).
Today we
had a visit from some lambs and the children from both classes had an
opportunity to meet them.
Class 2
have some new tadpoles and the children have been watching them eat the lettuce
we have fed them. Earlier in the week, some of the children found mint in
the garden and wanted to use it in the mud kitchen. We then provided some
mint in the classroom for the children to explore with scissors and mix with
various media. The children have been making pirate maps using teabags
and using chalks to make marks in the garden. We experimented with
raisins and sparkling water to make the raisins dance and the children have
worked together to make a river in the sand pit. On Monday we went to the
school hall for music and movement and we have spent a lot of time outside in
the sunshine. We have planted strawberries, tomatoes, potatoes and
daffodils.
In
Class 1 the children continued with the fire fighter role play and have been
using the water pistols to put out fires. They have also been mixing media
to make potions and making marks by spraying coloured water at a large white
sheet and throwing teabags at the fence.
Monday is
a bank holiday so Pre-School is closed. Class 2 will be going to Forest
School on Tuesday and Class 1 on Friday, please bring in wellies and
waterproofs.
If you
have not already brought your ticket for the fundraising disco, please
do. We only have a week to go! All money raised will help towards
the improvement of Class 1's garden!
We have brought some new books with the money raised for world book day and look forward to sharing them with the children.
Thank you
for all of the donations from the tree, please keep them coming in. We
are also still looking for help with some jobs around Pre-School, do let us
know if you are able to.
