Welcome to this weeks blog post.  This week in Class 1 the children have been taking their own pictures with a real camera.  They have made marks with paint using a squirty bottle and created a fire engine from the blocks.  The children have made their own playdough and explored shaving foam with ice. This week in Class 2 we made dinosaurs out of junk modelling.  We went to a very wet forest school and Tuesday and we were so excited to find a letter and treasure from the pirates, we left them one in return!  The children also helped to make the bug hotel, thank you for all the items you brought in for this.  We made gingerbread men and some of the children were able to decorate them.  The children have shown a keen interest in the bear hunt story and wrote to the bear, today the bear sent them a parcel and asked the children to make a cave so they did!  Next week we will be making soup.  We are looking for lots of real items for our role play area, if you have any hats, scarves, glas

Welcome to this weeks blog post.  This week in Class 1 the children made cakes with playdough and mud, they then made some real cakes!  The children explored a variety of sensory materials such as shaving foam, gloop and cloud dough.  We had a big box delivered, the children have been exploring ways to get into the box and used scissors to make holes in it.  This week the children made lots of marks with paint and pencils. This week in Class 2 the children have been making 'chocolate soup' by melting chocolate.  They then dipped some fruit in it to try, we had lots of conversations around how we could melt the chocolate!  On Tuesday we went to Forest School, we found treasure and thought that the pirates had left it!  We wrote the pirates a letter and made them a treasure map, we left it at Forest School for them to find.  Some of the children showed interest in the Gingerbread man story, we will be making some next week.  The class made up some classroom rules this week, we

Welcome to this weeks blog post.  We have had a very busy first week back! Class 2 will be starting forest school on Tuesday, please ensure that the children have their legs and arms covered.  They will also need waterproofs and wellies. We had a lot of unnamed wellies left behind before the summer holidays, those that have remained unclaimed are now in our spare welly tray.  A few children still do not have their own wellies in Pre-School.  Please do provide a pair of named wellies for Pre-School, although we have spares, the children prefer to have their own. We now know that we have raised an impressive £1000 from Brill fete.  We need a lot of volunteers to help us with this event, please do let us know if you are able to help next year.  We still have a long way to go before we reach the target needed for Class 1's garden.  We also hope to raise money for a staff/meeting room. This week in Class 1 the children created playdough cup cakes, the have also been exploring the

Welcome to the start of a new year!  We have been very busy over the summer getting Pre-School ready to open for children returning and new children joining us. As you will be aware we have had some new staff join us this term, Becks in Class 2 and Carly and Elaine in Class 1.  We have also had a change of Deputy Manager and Aimee has been appointed to this position.  Caroline has started her new job teaching level 2 in early years to adults, but is still with us on a Thursday and a Friday.  Caroline and Claire will lead Class 2 together and we hope to appoint someone to take on this role after Christmas.  Stephanie will be leaving us at Christmas due to relocating out of the area.  We will keep you updated on any progress and changes. We have lots of wellies left from the last term, if they do belong to your child please collect them.  Any uncollected wellies will go into our spare welly collection! Thank you to all of the parents who helped with the tidy up day and the fete.  A
