Welcome to the start of a new year!  We have been very busy over the summer getting Pre-School ready to open for children returning and new children joining us.

As you will be aware we have had some new staff join us this term, Becks in Class 2 and Carly and Elaine in Class 1.  We have also had a change of Deputy Manager and Aimee has been appointed to this position.  Caroline has started her new job teaching level 2 in early years to adults, but is still with us on a Thursday and a Friday.  Caroline and Claire will lead Class 2 together and we hope to appoint someone to take on this role after Christmas.  Stephanie will be leaving us at Christmas due to relocating out of the area.  We will keep you updated on any progress and changes.

We have lots of wellies left from the last term, if they do belong to your child please collect them.  Any uncollected wellies will go into our spare welly collection!

Thank you to all of the parents who helped with the tidy up day and the fete.  As a charity we rely on lots of support from parents and carers.  We are still raising money towards Class 1's garden and will update you with the total raised soon.

For our new parents, please take a look at our wish tree next to the front door.  We will also add some fruit out there, please help yourself.

In both classes this week the children have been getting to know the staff and exploring their environments.  We have been outside enjoying the gardens, please remember to send in named wellies and a coat.

Hello and welcome to this week’s blog post.   This week we have added 20 eggs to our incubator and we now need to wait 21 sleeps (approximately) for them to hatch! Class 2 have started planting, if you can donate any seeds or plants please take an item from the wish list (on Class 1’s garden fence).   We also have a new water table and the children have been exploring this.   Some of the children wanted to find out more about nocturnal animals and used the iPad.   We also found ladybirds in the garden and added them to the bug hotel. In Class 1 the children have been role playing as fire fighters, they used spray bottles filled with water to put out the fire. They have also measured how tall the sweet peas have grown. Tomorrow the staff team will be attending Helicopter Stories training with Trisha Lee from make believe arts.   Caroline has already attended training with Trisha and the children in Class 2 enjoy making up their own stories to act out on ‘stage’.   So

Hello and welcome to this week’s blog post.   T his week we have been counting down the days waiting for the eggs to hatch.  We now need to wait 14 sleeps (approximately). Today we had a visit from some lambs and the children from both classes had an opportunity to meet them. Class 2 have some new tadpoles and the children have been watching them eat the lettuce we have fed them.  Earlier in the week, some of the children found mint in the garden and wanted to use it in the mud kitchen.  We then provided some mint in the classroom for the children to explore with scissors and mix with various media.  The children have been making pirate maps using teabags and using chalks to make marks in the garden.  We experimented with raisins and sparkling water to make the raisins dance and the children have worked together to make a river in the sand pit.  On Monday we went to the school hall for music and movement and we have spent a lot of time outside in the sunshine.  We have plan
