Hello and welcome to this weeks blog post. We started the week with sports day on Monday, it was amazing to see so many family members and the children were all fantastic! Please note that we break up for the summer at midday on Friday 19th July. We will return on Thursday 5th September. We would like you to take all of your children's belongings home for the summer holidays to allow us to clean and tidy. Please return questionnaires by Thursday 18th July, we welcome feedback and will use this when making plans to improve our service to you and the children. On Thursday 18th July we will be hosting a leavers afternoon tea. This is for the class 2 children and their families. Please do let us know if you are attending to ensure we have enough seats!! Welcome to this weeks blog post. This week in Class 1 the children made cakes with playdough and mud, they then made some real cakes! The children explored a variety of sensory materials such as shaving foam, gloop and cloud dough. We had a big box delivered, the children have been exploring ways to get into the box and used scissors to make holes in it. This week the children made lots of marks with paint and pencils. This week in Class 2 the children have been making 'chocolate soup' by melting chocolate. They then dipped some fruit in it to try, we had lots of conversations around how we could melt the chocolate! On Tuesday we went to Forest School, we found treasure and thought that the pirates had left it! We wrote the pirates a letter and made them a treasure map, we left it at Forest School for them to find. Today’s Blog has been written by Alina. Sing songs such as 5 little monkeys, 5 little speckled frogs, 5 little men in a flying saucer etc. Songs will help children develop speech and language and if you choose songs with numbers in them this will also help children become aware of numbers and later on learn to count.
