Welcome to this week’s blog post.

This week in Class 1 the children had the opportunity to create a wormery, this followed on from us finding worms in the garden.  The children can add more worms and food to the wormy.  This week we have been exploring light on the light box, the children have used coloured blocks and cups to observe the changes.  There has been interest in the play till, the children created money and resources were provided for the children to make a shop.  
Next week the children will be introduced to Makaton signs, they will be shown a new sign every week to help support communication and language.  The first sign will be sit/sitting,  The children will be shown the action and the word at the same time.  The sign will be added to Class 1's door for you to try with your children at home.  If you have any questions, please speak to Aimee.




This week in Class 2 we have been trying out our new wooden writing boards!  The children have been transporting these around the room and making lots of lovely pictures.  The playdough station has been open this week, this helps develop mathematical language and concepts.  It also encourages the children to experiment and problem solve.  We have used lots of flour and salt, if you have any that you could donate we would be very grateful.  
The pirates came to Forest School again, they left the children new magnifying glasses and binoculars.  We are looking forward to our pirate party on Tuesday 3rd December.  There will be no Forest School next week due to photos.  
We have been working hard in the garden collecting all the leaves, the children worked together to fill up the wheelbarrows and bring them to us to put into Forest School.  We are also pleased that our climbing frame has now been fixed and the children can use it again.  
Next week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving!

Hello and welcome to this week’s blog post.   This week we have added 20 eggs to our incubator and we now need to wait 21 sleeps (approximately) for them to hatch! Class 2 have started planting, if you can donate any seeds or plants please take an item from the wish list (on Class 1’s garden fence).   We also have a new water table and the children have been exploring this.   Some of the children wanted to find out more about nocturnal animals and used the iPad.   We also found ladybirds in the garden and added them to the bug hotel. In Class 1 the children have been role playing as fire fighters, they used spray bottles filled with water to put out the fire. They have also measured how tall the sweet peas have grown. Tomorrow the staff team will be attending Helicopter Stories training with Trisha Lee from make believe arts.   Caroline has already attended training with Trisha and the children in Class 2 enjoy making up their own stories to act out on ‘stage’.   So

Hello and welcome to this week’s blog post.   T his week we have been counting down the days waiting for the eggs to hatch.  We now need to wait 14 sleeps (approximately). Today we had a visit from some lambs and the children from both classes had an opportunity to meet them. Class 2 have some new tadpoles and the children have been watching them eat the lettuce we have fed them.  Earlier in the week, some of the children found mint in the garden and wanted to use it in the mud kitchen.  We then provided some mint in the classroom for the children to explore with scissors and mix with various media.  The children have been making pirate maps using teabags and using chalks to make marks in the garden.  We experimented with raisins and sparkling water to make the raisins dance and the children have worked together to make a river in the sand pit.  On Monday we went to the school hall for music and movement and we have spent a lot of time outside in the sunshine.  We have plan
