Welcome to this week’s blog post.

This week in Class 1 there has been an interest in tea parties so we provided the children with resources for them to role play with.

The children have used the wooden blocks to create enclosures for the animals and houses for the small world characters.

The children have shown lots of interest in the playhouse now that it has moved, more of them have been using this as part of their play.

We were very excited to have snow this week, the children made snowmen and had a snowball fight.

Next week we will introduce the Makaton sign for outside.

In Class 2 we have been exploring the toy shop and holiday areas.  These were suggestions from some of the children.  In the toy shop we have been exploring numbers and money, the children then wanted to be Doctors and look after us.

We have started to plant some seeds, the children chose what they wanted to grow and we spoke about what seeds needed to turn into a flower or vegetable.

We have introduced an art gallery in the classroom, one of the children wanted to display their work and this has started a trend with the other children.

The lego has proved very popular this week, the children have been creating houses and vehicles.  We are running low on lego people, donations will be gratefully received.

We went to music and movement on Monday and played games such as grandma footsteps and duck, duck goose.

On Thursday it snowed!  Lots of children wanted to go outside in the snow and play.  We built a snowman with a banana nose, throw snowballs and transported the snow in wheelbarrows.

Please find questionnaires in the children's trays, we would like the children's views on any improvements we can make to the setting.

We also have the parent questionnaire on survey monkey, we would appreciate it if you take the time to complete this https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/8LPXQDW

Next week is world book day, children are invited to dress up as their favorite character on Thursday 5th March.
