Welcome to this week’s blog post.

This week in Class 1 the children have shown an interest in the sand, we made a sandpit in the classroom and the children used animals, cars and pots in there.  They also created short stories.  The children wanted to make the colour pink, we experimented to find out how to make the colour.  The children showed interest in camping and we created a tent to support their play.

This week in Class 2 we have been exploring Diwali.  The children watched short clips introducing them to the festival and we asked them what they would like to do.  Following on from this they have made Diva lamps from salt dough and vegetable curry for snack.  We also had some scarves for them to dress up in.
We have used golf tees to hammer into pumpkins and lots of the children have told us about fireworks and Halloween!
The children have shown interest in role play involving tickets, we had a cinema and a bus station.  This involved lots of mark making and working together to build their props.
We continued with the letters and sounds programme with a listening moment this week and we have a new poem, Falling apples.
The pirates had visited Forest School again and left the children items to make mud paint, we also tried to make a rope swing but we will take a ladder to make it higher next week!
